Job Summary
Gateway Community and Technical College in Northern Kentucky is looking for a passionate and qualified individual to join our dedicated Nursing faculty full-time. Success in this role requires strong teamwork skills to deliver nursing education to Associate Degree Nursing students. This faculty member will actively participate in team teaching to provide high-quality nursing education.
**Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a short (approximately 15 minutes) teaching demonstration on the topic to be determined prior to the interview.
10-month faculty contracts span the academic year, typically from August to May, with no course assignments during June and July. Although the contract covers 10 months, the salary is spread over 12 months, ensuring a consistent monthly salary. Benefits are provided year-round. Renewal of the contract depends on factors such as student enrollment and available funding.
Job Duties:
- Participate in instructional presentation and delivery, including planning, designing, evaluating, and assessing instructional programs.
- Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision, and development.
- Incorporate the latest instructional technologies and interactive learning methods in course delivery.
- Support and promote the mission, goals, and objectives of the College by performing duties as directed by the leadership of the department, division, and College.
- Provide supplemental teaching in clinical and skills laboratories each semester as necessary.
- Recruit students for the program.
- Advise students who are in the program.
- Monitor and improve student retention.
- Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in faculty committees.
- Other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 18 hours of graduate work in Nursing or a BSN with a commitment to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) within five years.
- Completion of a professional nursing education program approved by a state board of nursing.
- Minimum of two years full-time or equivalent experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse within the immediate last five years.
- Medical/surgical experience is required; experience in critical care, pediatrics, obstetrics, and/or mental health is a plus.
- Current, active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Experience in classroom and clinical teaching, curriculum design, and the use of technology.
- Excellent computer skills and a demonstrated career that includes flexibility, open-mindedness, a willingness to take risks, and a commitment to professional and personal growth.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Nursing
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.)
- Significant teaching experience, particularly at the college level
- Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement
- Experience working with and understanding students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in academic advising and supporting student success
- Previous experience in a community college setting
