Residential Assistant- 3rd shift and weekends

Brighton Center, Inc. is a private non-profit community-based organization with the mission to create opportunities for individuals and families to reach self-sufficiency through family support services, education, employment, and leadership. 

We currently have part-time, 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekends opportunities for passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of youth and gain experience in social services.

Residential Assistants (RAs) provide direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. RAs actively engage with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. RAs play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social-emotional wellbeing. 

Responsibilities 
(Not Inclusive)

• Manage the daily activities of residents, including:
  • Providing behavior management as needed
  • Ensuring meals are prepared in a timely fashion
  • Supervising and engaging in recreation activities
  • Overseeing satisfactory chore completion by residents
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the facility
  • Assist residents with transportation needs as necessary
  • Oversee the safety of residents and the facility
• Assist with 24/7 shelter programming, including:
  • Answering all hotline calls and providing crisis counseling as necessary
  • Planning, preparing, and facilitating educational groups of interest to our residents
  • Completing required shift documentation
  • Collaborating with Treatment Team in developing youth service plans
• Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary.

 Qualifications
 (Not Inclusive)

• Must be 21 years of age
• Two years’ experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred
• Must have a High School diploma, some college preferred
• Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years
• Residential experience a plus

 Pay Rate: $14-$15 per hour (10-20 hours weekly) Non-Exempt
