 We are seeking qualified candidates for a Medical Assisting Skill Instructor position.
Job Responsibilities:
As the Medical Assisting Skill Instructor at Center for Employment Training (CET), you will instruct, coach, and provide case management to individuals whose goal is to achieve economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their family by training for a career in a high-demand industry sector.  In this role, you will work with trainees from enrollment to employment and provide hands-on skill training in all aspects of the Medical Assistant job function (clinical and administrative).  You will design and implement curricula, facilitate lectures and classroom activities that accommodate a variety of learning styles, and provide individualized one-on-one instruction.  You will perform other functions that support classroom management such as building class schedules, monitoring and recording trainees’ progress, and managing attendance records.  You will also help trainees develop their employability skills and resiliency by building trusting, professional relationships with them.  This partnership will allow you to assess barriers to training and employment, identify appropriate solutions, and provide effective coaching that aligns behaviors with the expectations of the industry.  As trainees advance through the curriculum, the Skill Instructor will play a key role in facilitating clinical externship placement at one of CET’s employer partner extern sites.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to connect and engage with individuals of diverse backgrounds and will hold the passionate belief that each person has inherent worth and dignity and the ability to become self-sufficient.  The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who can problem-solve and work independently.  The Skill Instructor will be engaging, motivating, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM.
  • Hold MA certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or be qualified to sit for certification.
  • Two years of related healthcare industry experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and/or instructional experience.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to independently solve problems.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to navigate database applications.
  • Reliable transportation
This is a Full-time position.
