Counselor-Homeward Bound
Brighton Center, a not for profit agency, has a full-time Homeward Bound Counselor opportunity for an individual who would like to make a career in a not-for-profit organization. We are looking for an individual who has a passion to work in an organization that helps its customers become self-sufficient.
Position Purpose: Homeward Bound provides emergency shelter and residential treatment for adolescents that cannot live at home safely. The Counselor will be a critical part of our treatment team to work with the youth and their home safely or transition them to the next best place that meets their needs. Homeward Bound staff works as a team to reduce barriers at home, at school, and in the community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to youth in Homeward Bound
- Ensures required documentation is timely to meet funders requirements
- Conducts assessments, complete treatment plans, discharge summaries
- Maintain regular and consistent communication with DCBS/Guardian
- Liaison for youth and families so their voice is heard
- Crisis counseling as needed
- Trauma-informed approach
Job Qualifications:
- Master's Level Licensed Counselor or Social Worker or other license to provide therapy and 2 years of experience with youth and families
- Knowledge of best practice documentation and service plan development.
- Adolescent experience, crisis skills are needed
- Residential experience a plus
- Must have strong clinical, organizational, assessment, advocacy, and documentation skills
Pay Rate: $44,000-$46,000 per Year Exempt
