Allan focuses his practice on corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, and general corporate governance and organizational matters. He has provided representation to technology focused emerging growth companies, advising them during their entire corporate life cycle, and has experience representing both companies and venture capital firms in private equity and debt financings. He joined the firm after practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area. He served as the general counsel for Sproost, Inc., handling all legal matters and providing strategic business advice. Previously, he was an attorney with Gunderson Dettmer in Silicon Valley. Allan began his career at the law firm of Latham & Watkin in San Fransico.
Gibran J. Peña-Porras, Great American Insurance Company
Born and raised in Mexico, and long-time resident of Texas until 2016 when I moved to Cincinnati to attend law school. Throughout my law school tenure, I proudly served in many organizations whose objectives were to serve the legal community and the community at large. Joined Great American Insurance Company as an Associate Counsel in 2019, tasked with leading a re-contracting project with over 4,000 business partners. Today, I assist our various divisions with contracting matters, compliance, and legal issues arising out of their respective operations. As an entrepreneur myself, I thoroughly enjoy chatting with entrepreneurs and helping them navigate some of the challenges that we all encounter with our businesses.
Christopher Brinkman, Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL
Chris Brinkman is a lawyer at Keating Muething & Klekamp, specializing in business representation and transactions, particularly in venture capital, startups, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. He acts as outside general counsel for startups and venture-backed companies, guiding them through various stages of development, from formation to exit transactions. Chris is experienced in business formation, intellectual property protection, equity-based incentives, financing, and fund formations for venture capital funds. He not only provides legal advice but also assists clients practically to achieve their goals. He advises both private and public companies on corporate and securities matters. Chris is involved in entrepreneurial programs, supervising law students counseling startups and giving lectures to MBA students. Additionally, he dedicates part of his practice to pursuing post-conviction relief for individuals claiming innocence, stemming from his involvement with The Ohio Innocence Project during law school. Chris earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2015 and his B.S. from Indiana University in 2009.
Cecelia Tio, Lumin Digital
Cecelia Tio, Cece, serves as Corporate Counsel for Lumin Digital, Inc., a fintech in San Ramon, California. In her fully remote role, her primary responsibilities include contracts negotiation, contracts drafting, and dispute resolution. Besides working for Lumin Digital, it is a passion of hers to assist non-profit organizations in achieving their long-term goals. She currently serves on a number of boards in the field of Arts and Culture including Tiger Lily Press, Ish, My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus, American Sign Museum, and Pyramid Hill Park and Sculpture Garden. She is an alumna of the Boardway Bound program through Arts Wave. Additionally, Cece volunteers at the Cincinnati College of Law for their ECDC Clinic, Pro-Bono Partnership of Ohio, and the Cincinnati Bar Association. She calls Cincinnati her home and is happy to be involved in so many organizations that the Queen City has to offer.
